Independent Operational Group Polesie
The Independent Operational Group Polesie was formed as an ad-hoc unit on 9-11 of September after a series of German breakthroughs in Poland. As it fought its way across Poland, IOG Polesie picked up soldiers from shattered units of the Polish Army and integrated them into their ranks. With the fall of Warsaw on September 28th, the units were ordered towards the Holy Cross Mountains to conduct partisan warfare, engaging the Soviets on 29-30 September. However, while some commanders did manage to create partisan units, the great majority of the unit fought in the final action of the September Campaign, the Battle of Kock. While they won the engagement, low on supplies, the unit surrendered on 6 October, bringing an end to the Polish Defensive War.
